What I Wore – Feathers and Flats

I’m stuck in a feather trend at the moment. If not for the fact that people would think I’ve completely lost it, I’d wear feathers in my hair, as earrings, as a manicure, on my shoes… you name it.

For now though, I’ve kept it pretty toned down. In this outfit, I paired my feather necklace with some bright flats and loose clothing.

Cute and comfortable and not overdoing the feather-thing! What do you think?

Gisella Blu and Aurora Wild now in the UAE!

Earlier this week, I was invited to the premier launch in the UAE of two fabulous brands: Gisella Blu and Aurora Wild.

 

Positioning themselves as “accessible luxury,” these brands are sure to do well in the UAE, and their Spring/Summer 2013 collection is already available in Dalma Mall, Abu Dhabi. Gisella Blu is the clothing component, and boasts some beautiful dresses that flatter the female figure.

Aurora Wild is the footwear counterpart, and has a wide range of styles from sandals to boots.

The launch itself was held at the Westin Mina Seyahi and the setup was chic and exclusive. Many of the brands’ products were on display as well, which made the launch feel a lot like a personal shopping experience.

Along with the press kit, they even gave away a gorgeous Gisella Blu style bag, perfect for a glamourous day at the pool.

I can’t wait for them to open more branches, especially in Dubai!

Perfect Pearls

A while back, I broke my pearl necklace at the office and was super sad because it was completely uncalled for. Thankfully though, a friend of mine offered to put it back together for me, even adding her own special touch. Thanks Renata!

Liebeskind launch in Dubai

Tuesday marked the launch of Liebeskind here in Dubai, exclusively in Deira City Centre. Liebeskind is a German designer brand from Berlin, offering amazing leather goods like their signature bags, belts, shoes, wallets, and the like.

I was so excited to hear that they opened not only their main store, but also their sister brand, Comma, which is the clothing counterpart!

I was invited to attend the store opening, followed by a wonderful lunch buffet at the Medley Restaurant in the Pullman Hotel afterwards.

To top it all off, Liebeskind also provided a spectacular goodie bag with a fabulous leather journal, a super light and airy scarf (perfect for the summer!), and a zesty, gingery, lemon-and-sage scented candle that makes you just want to curl up with a good book and relax.

What a great brand to bring to the UAE!
